OBJECTIVE AND SUBJECT OF THE PROJECT
The main objective of the project is to analyse and develop new solutions for developing the research capacity of the European Union's scientific institutions basing on sustainable policy towards gender equality in science.
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
Project activities include an analysis of the research potential of research institutions in Europe and developing tools for European research organisations, universities, and research funding organisations of European countries to address gender-related barriers concerning recruitment, retention, and development of research careers (so-called GEP – Gender Equality Program). The project will result in implementing GEP at the partner universities, which will contribute to cultural and institutional change as well as unlocking the research potential of scientific organisations.
As part of the project, an assessment of the procedures and practices applied in the partner countries and universities will be carried out with regard to research capacity and career development (e.g. of female researchers), as well as an analysis of national legislation and policy frameworks. In parallel, participatory activities will be carried out, meetings to understand the needs and preferences of stakeholders and increase their competences concerning selected topics related to sustainable policies towards gender equality in science.
The activities in terms of the project activities are included in the following packages:
- WP 1. Project management
- WP 2. Audit and evaluation of GEP procedures and practices at national and university level
- WP 3. Building a base for systematic institutional change
- WP 4. Preparing and implementing GEP
- WP 5. Monitoring and evaluating GEP
- WP 6. Project sustainability strategy ensuring replication of GEP and project results
- WP 7. Communication and dissemination
INVOLVEMENT OF THE JAN KOCHANOWSKI UNIVERSITY IN KIELCE

JKU was also entrusted with the task of coordinating for the entire consortium the package concerning monitoring and analysing changes in the course of project research across the consortium (WP 5). The results will be disseminated ensuring the best possible outreach to target groups.
