'MEDPAT- Retrofitting of scientific facilities - health care research'

The aim of the project is to expand the scientific and research infrastructure of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce with particular reference to the use of information and communication technologies in the process of diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating patients and to increase the commercial use of the infrastructure in scientific research
in the fields of pathology, radiation therapy, posturology and movement analysis.

The material scope of the project includes:

1. 1. Expansion (3306.7 sq.m.) and modernisation (150 sq.m.) of cubic infrastructure for medical laboratories:

1. - Laboratory of Physiology, Pathophysiology and Infectious Microbiology,

   - Department of Pathology with in situ hybridisation and molecular biology laboratories,

   - Modern Surgery Planning Laboratory,

   - Diagnostics Laboratory,

   - Virtual Radiation Therapy Laboratory,

   - Posturology and Movement Analysis Laboratory.

2. 2. Furnish the resulting infrastructure with furniture and equipment enabling the usage of the premises;
3. 3. Purchase and installation of scientific and research apparatus and specialised equipment for business research and scientific development work;
4. 4. Certification of laboratories and test methods certifying the quality of commercial services;
5. 5. Implementation of investments by a team of university staff.

Project results:

- 4 businesses using the supported infrastructure,

- 2 R&D projects,

- 7 new jobs.

Products:

- PLN 20 million expenditure on scientific apparatus,

- 6 supported research laboratories,

- 20 scientists working in improved infrastructure,

- 29 businesses collaborating with the research centre,

- PLN 9 500 - private investment to complement public support
for research and development projects.
