ACCELERATOR OF DEVELOPMENT for the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
We would like to inform you that we are announcing an additional call for applications for participation in trainings aimed at improving the teaching competences in the field of innovative teaching skills, implemented within the project „ACCELERATOR OF DEVELOPMENT for the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce”.
TRAINING TOPICS
- Project methods in academic didactics – 16 hrs/gr.
Training topics: introduction to project methodology, definitions and benefits, stimulating creativity when building a project using the Walt Disney method and others, creating a project plan, Gantt chart, project matrix, discussion of conclusions, project as a method of Problem Based Learning.
- Communication in didactics – 16 hrs/gr.
The training program will cover the following topics: key conversations (mini-lecture-exercise), building reflexivity (workshop), types of feedback, types and models of effective communication, and effective modelling of providing feedback.
- Modern teaching of foreign languages – 16 hrs/gr.
The program will include: taking advantage of materials (artefacts of everyday life); storytelling and metaphor work; using online resources and technology; building and maintaining student motivation through elements of playing, coaching tools in teaching a foreign language.
- Tutor accreditation training – 92 h/gr.
The training program will include:
Module 1 boundaries of tutoring: practicing the ability to set boundaries in the tutor-student relationship and to recognise when these boundaries are crossed. Issues concerning the boundaries of tutoring as a method, clarifying which areas a tutor can work on.
Module II communication in tutoring - practicing communication models in tutoring including the scope of non-violent communication, providing motivational feedback as well as active and empathetic listening. Communication competences to effectively relate to students and motivate them to develop.
Module III Development tools and project work, a tutor's code of ethics, tutor's identity: equip tutors with ideas for conducting classes, understanding basic ethical principles in a tutor's work, assessing a tutor's mission in the context of tutor mission and identity.
Module IV individual supervision, individual meetings through which the tutor notices own and a student's needs, can evaluate own tutoring strategy. One-to-one meetings provide the opportunity to assess individual tutor projects needed for accreditation (2 tutor projects of a minimum of 8 tutorials with students).
- For the German Philology course – Intensive course in modern translation techniques – on site form at JKU or online (5 persons):
- Interpreting training – 30 hrs – the program includes techniques of taking notes, creating glossaries, types of interpreting: a vista, consecutive, booth/conference – 3 persons
- Translation training – 30 hrs – the program includes general and specialised translation, terminology management, computer support, creating glossaries – 2 persons,
- Translation didactics – 30 hrs (5 persons - participants of training 1) and 2)
FORM OF APPLYING FOR PARTICIPATION
The completed application form, in the attachment, should be submitted in paper form from 20 September 2021 to 15 October 2021 in the JKU Rector's Office building, Kielce ul. Żeromskiego 5, room 16, at 9.00 - 14.00.
