Project description:

 

The main objective of the project consists in an intensive scientific and research development of the Medical College between 01.01.2019 and 31.12.2023 in relation to the highest parametric category.

The project tasks will be carried out in relation to scientific and research excellence focused on five research fields in the health sciences:

FIELD 1 - Prevention of civilisation diseases;

FIELD 2 - Obesity and metabolic syndrome;

FIELD 3 - Lifestyle of children, young people, and adults, prevention of addiction;

FIELD 4 - Examination of the musculoskeletal system with the use of modern diagnostic techniques;

FIELD 5 - Exploring methods of prevention and treatment of selected infectious diseases.

Achieving the assumed objective is planned through individual activities/tasks:

Task 1. Improving the quality of basic research and the scientific development of staff.

The strategy for the development of research and work development of the Medical College of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce provides for:

  1. Increasing the number of publications in scientific journals by 5% per year during the project period;
  2. Increasing the number of publications in scientific journals with young staff assuming an increase of 5% per year during the project period;
  3. Increase the number of monographs authored by the staff conducting research in the health sciences discipline, assuming the publication of 4 monographs during the project period;
  4. Implementing an incentive program for research staff in order to introduce modern teaching methods and up-to-date research findings into teaching.

Task 2. Development of research activities

  1. Implementing the ,,ABC of grant-making" training program consisting in organising workshops for scientific staff concerning developing research projects;
  2. Establishing a project management support unit;
  3. Recruiting new academic staff required to carry out projects and expand the research offer in the health sciences;
  4. Acquiring apparatus, equipment, and licences for research activities necessary to conduct research in the five research areas listed in the strategy;
  5. Purchasing materials, services, and reagents for research activities.

 

Task 3. International cooperation

  1. Employing 4 visiting professors from the best national and international centres;
  2. Organising 16 study visits during the project implementation period in order to establish international contacts and initiate research projects;
  3. Organising 8 national and international research internships in each year of the project;
  4. Training, courses - improving staff competences for 20 people throughout the period of implementing the project.

Task 4. University for the region

  1. Own grants program - funding 8 projects selected through an internal competition;
  2. Dissemination activities/Open labs Promotion - events/Prevention programs - healthy society/University creative mix.
