POL-on - Integrated Information System for Science and Higher Education

POL-on is the Integrated Information System for Science and Higher Education, which supports the work of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Central Statistical Office and the Central Commission for Degrees and Titles.

The POL-on's task is to create a global database of scientific entities, universities and Polish science. The information it collects supports the decision-making processes of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education with regard to Polish universities and research units.

• Information System on Higher Education within ZSI POL-on consists of, among others, the following lists: higher education institutions, research units, fields of study, authorisations to conduct studies in a given field, initiated studies in a given field, students and doctoral students, doctoral programmes, material aid, financial reports, reports on the implementation of the material and financial plan, reports on the activities of higher education institutions, financial reports, material and financial plans, a national list of persons who were awarded the degree of dr, dr hab. or the title of professor, database of abstracts/authors' reports and reviews, authorisation of entities to grant scientific degrees.

• Information System on Science within ZSI POL-on includes data on research and development activity of scientific units and its effects, as well as a central list of scientific employees employed in scientific units in the performance of research or development work under an employment relationship.
